Alex Stathakis

Alex is an Associate Director with Rennie, based in Brisbane.

Alex possesses over 13 years of specialised experience in GHG emissions and climate-related financial disclosure. His expertise spans multiple sectors, including aviation, tourism, resources, and retail management. Before teaming up with Rennie, he founded Conversio and worked for organisations like Telstra, EY, Net Balance, and what is now the Clean Energy Finance Corporation.

 In his role, Alex assists clients by offering technical counsel on GHG inventories, materiality assessments, and IFRS-compliant disclosures. With a keen understanding of organisational complexity, Alex excels at addressing various stakeholders' divergent needs and priorities, ensuring a cohesive approach to disclosure challenges.

 In addition to being an approved Level 4/4+ verifier under the Airport Carbon Accreditation program, an ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, and a registered Climate Active consultant, he has also completed executive education in Corporate Sustainability Management at Yale School of Management, Clean Energy Solutions at MIT Professional Education, and Business and Climate Change at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. His academic credentials include Master's degrees in Technology and Innovation Management and Business from The University of Queensland and specialised certifications in GHG management, reporting and verification, and company directorship.
