Vysus Grid joins Rennie: Grid Connection comes inside the firm

Published 10 August 2026  •  1 minute read

Every renewable project in Australia starts in the same place. Before financing, before EPC selection, before most commercial decisions get made, someone has to answer the question that determines whether the project lives: can this asset connect to the grid, and on what terms? It’s the most technically demanding question in energy project development, and for most developers, it’s answered by one team while every other question is answered by another. From today, that changes.

We are establishing Grid Connections as a fourth service line in our business, via the acquisition of the Australian, Malaysian and Indian licenses, capability and assets of Vysus Grid, a leading electrical engineering advisory firm specialising in grid connection studies, and we are delighted to welcome their team to Rennie.

For five years, our clients have told us the same thing: the technical, regulatory and commercial challenges of the energy transition are becoming increasingly interconnected. Grid connection sits at the centre of that challenge, in particular connection strategy and feasibility, power systems studies, and commissioning and validation, which interface directly with the operational journey. This new service line links directly to, and will be enhanced by, our existing regulatory, commercial and strategic limbs to provide a deeper and more insightful client service experience.

Vysus Grid has been providing specialist grid connection services for over twenty-three years. The team has advised on over 280 connection projects across 20GW of wind, solar and storage connections, and many of its alumni now work across power systems businesses throughout the Asia Pacific region. It has a long history as an incubator of talent and deep industry insights, with the global team covering the full connection journey, from connection strategy and feasibility through to commissioning and performance validation.

We are best known for our commitment to four values: excellence, teaming, authenticity and quality. These four values drive our engagement management, quality management, cross-competency teaming and client communications, and have helped us grow into the largest energy transition firm in Australia. With this initial investment, and a strong Board commitment to strengthened process, investment in capability and training, and integration with our existing Service Lines in Rennie, we expect this new part of our business to grow into one of the best known and most respected grid engineering businesses in the Asia Pacific region.
