Senior engineering leader Chetan Chauhan has joined Rennie, as the
firm shifts gears into the engineering advisory market

Rennie CEO Simone Rennie today announced that engineering leader Chetan Chauhan has joined Rennie as an Executive Director, responsible for leading the firm’s global Power Systems service line. Chetan will be responsible for driving growth of Rennie’s newly established energy transition engineering team following the acquisition of Vysus Grid in August 2026.

“We are very pleased to welcome Chetan to the firm, as part of our executive leadership team and as a leader in our Brisbane office,” said Ms Rennie. “This is an exciting and strategic appointment for Rennie. Chetan brings the benefit of 19 years’ of experience across grid connection, transmission, substations, REZ infrastructure, BESS, pumped hydro and mission-critical data center electrical systems, all areas in which we are experiencing rapid growth”.

Chetan joins Rennie from respected engineering consulting firm GHD, where he was responsible for the firm’s Power Systems service line across the Asia Pacific region.  Prior to that, he worked in senior engineering roles with UGL, AECOM and ABB. His background spans both engineering consultancy and contractor environments, providing a practical understanding of complex energy infrastructure projects development, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and safe transition into operation.

Mr Chauhan today said “I am delighted to be joining the leadership team of Rennie and in particular to drive the growth and market penetration of our Power Systems team into the mining and energy sectors.  My values align closely with the Rennie team, making this an exciting move.  I am looking forward to growing the Power Systems business both in depth and breadth to meet the incredible demand coming for these services both from within Australia and across the Asia Pacific region over the coming years.”

Rennie is now one of the largest energy transition advisory firms in Australia since its inception 5 years ago. Its founders Simone and Matt Rennie were named in the top 5 powerful consultants in 2022, it partnered with private equity powerhouse Pemba Capital via a 40% secondary acquisition in early 2024, and welcomed Tim Eddy as Chair that same year.  The team is now more than 100 people across Australia, Malaysia and India and has four service lines: Strategy and Operations, Capital Advisory, Economics Reform and Sustainability, and Power Systems.
