Izzat is a Power Systems Engineer with more than 9 years of experience across the energy and infrastructure sectors. He currently specialises in Australian grid connection studies for renewable energy and battery energy storage projects, supporting generator connection applications and compliance with the National Electricity Rules (NER). His experience includes RMS and EMT simulation and modelling, steady-state and dynamic studies, small-signal stability analysis, and the assessment of inverter-based resources. He has also contributed to the integration and deployment of battery energy storage systems incorporating Grid-Forming Inverter technology in the National Electricity Market (NEM). His broader experience spans combined-cycle and hydroelectric power generation, grid operations and technology, railway systems, and building services, with involvement across detailed engineering design, construction, commissioning, troubleshooting and project management. He has experience in electrical, instrumentation and control systems, including DCS-based plant control and start-up and shutdown sequences, as well as industrial communication protocols such as IEC 60870-5-104, Modbus TCP/IP, Profibus and Foundation Fieldbus. Izzat has professional experience with power system simulation and analysis tools including PSS®E, PSCAD and EMS platforms, complemented by developing expertise in Python for engineering analysis and automation.
