Shahrul Azri is a Power Systems Engineer with nearly 13 years of experience in the energy and power industry across the Asia-Pacific region. Throughout his career, he has been involved in a wide range of electrical engineering studies, including power system analysis, protection coordination studies, and other network performance assessments for utility and industrial clients. Over the years, Shahrul has developed extensive expertise in power system planning, design, and modelling. He has successfully delivered technical studies and consulting services supporting the development, operation, and optimization of electrical power networks. In addition to consulting and engineering studies, Shahrul gained valuable project delivery experience through his involvement in the EPCC execution of the BGRIMM Co-Generation Plant Development Project in Thailand. The project comprised seven co-generation plant blocks, where he was responsible for conducting power system studies focused on plant design and system strength assessment to ensure reliable and robust power system performance. Shahrul is proficient in industry-leading power system simulation tools including PSS®E, ETAP, PSCAD, and PSS®SINCAL/Adapt, and has applied Python programming to automate and enhance simulation workflows within PSS®E and PSCAD environments. His technical expertise spans power system modelling, system strength assessment, dynamic studies, protection coordination, and renewable and conventional generation integration.
