Thomas specialises in project development and policy design for low-carbon solutions. With four years of experience, he has supported government, industry, and technology providers across hard-to-abate supply chains, combining engineering expertise with commercial and policy insight. He has advised start-ups, project developers, established industry players, and government agencies on financial, economic, and policy risks in emerging decarbonisation sectors. His recent work includes economic modelling and analysis for low-carbon liquid fuels (CEFC) and green metals (WWF) and buy-side due diligence for a sustainable aviation fuel investment fund with a major Australian airline. Additionally, Thomas has provided commercial support, including financial modelling, for developers in biogas, renewables, low-carbon liquid fuels, hydrogen and green metals. Prior to joining Rennie, Thomas was a Senior Analyst in Deloitte’s Energy and Climate Advisory team and an engineering consultant with switcH2 Engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from UNSW.
